Pastor's Notes (April 2010)

Dearest Friends,

“Christ is Risen; He is risen indeed!” What wonderful and beautiful words. On Easter Sunday, we will say these words, sing these words, pray these words, and believe these words. They are simple, and yet profoundly powerful words, of hope and joy. Even death cannot destroy the power of love – love that is simple, love that is divine. In the life of Jesus, we come to know of love; love of the Father for the Son; love of the Creator for the creation; love of the One for the many. In the light of the Resurrection, we gain the confidence of faith – that even an occurrence that we cannot understand, measure, or duplicate can be real. In faith, we pray that the gift of life eternal can be ours as well.

While this belief might not be logical or easy to explain, it lies at the very foundation of our faith tradition. It is the belief that has formed the doctrinal positions of the church about who Jesus was and is for us. And in the glory of the first rays of sunshine on Easter morning, and throughout the day, we will celebrate what is truth for us. Christ lives! His love, and the love of the Father, endures! Salvation awaits those who believe and follow!

Christ is Risen; He is risen indeed! Alleluia!

Wishing you every Easter blessing and joy,

Pastor Gail
