Dearest Friends in Christ,

As I look back over the past nine months, I am amazed at what God through the Holy Spirit has brought to fruition in our midst.  We welcomed, and now bid a sad good-bye to, Brandy and Leif Gerjuoy.  Their love of church and church music, both traditional and contemporary, has been a blessing, and we praise God for the gifts that they have shared with us.  We welcomed Jennifer Bennett into our community as Director of Youth Ministries, and we are still discovering together what God will create through her ministry with us.  She brings a new focus, as well as an appreciation for tradition, which will provide a solid foundation for our CE programming for years to come.  We are richly blessed.

In addition to changes in staffing, in February the congregation voted in favor of sanctuary renovations recommended by the Trustees.  That work has begun and it will be exciting to see the finished product, hopefully on September 15th.  At a special congregational meeting on April 7th, the congregation again voted in favor of change – this time the creation of a preschool operated by the church.  The preparation work for that has also begun, with an offer pending for the position of director.  This is an exciting time in the life of Lee Church Congregational.  We are richly blessed.

Of course, this all means that summer will not be quiet at 17 Mast Road.  There will be lots of activity, lots of planning, and lots of dreaming as we move into the fall months, and there are many opportunities for everyone to be involved.  The Holy Spirit has been present with us, in our visions and hopes for the future, as well as our labors in the present.  We pray that we might be open to the Spirit, and guided along the path of God’s choosing and desire for us.  We are richly blessed.
