Holy Week at Lee Church

posted Apr 8, 2020, 8:36 AM by Lee Church
Dear Beloved Community:

Welcome to Holy Week, and that not so slow movement into Jerusalem and through Maundy Thursday, Good Friday, the Vigil and into Easter.  A lot to pack into one week.  Here is a Holy Week schedule for you all, and includes us trying some new things, as well as a short piece about prayer.

Sally Barney, Greg Furrer and Phyllis White are holding strong as a prayer team, and welcome folks to join them to pray intentionally for the prayers of our people and beyond.  Sally has done great work developing a format, and I will share that one day each week in one of my morning reflections, as well as sending it out via e-mail.  We invite you to use it at any point when you can take a moment to lift up your own as well as our collective prayers to God.  God hears us even in our silence, but the act of praying is powerful, transformative and contemplative, and it works!  Thank you for being a praying people, who pour forth your own light and love so that this world may be healed, people comforted, and the Spirit forever rolling through our lives.

God bless you all in this time of pandemic.  I am so grateful for the amazing work of Rich von Oyen, Bill and Lynda Duvall and the work of the Wilkinson Food Pantry to be sure all in our community have food, and that the Easter Food baskets went out to over 40 people and families.  Deep gratitude to Georgia Kerns and Connections team for helping our community stay connected, and to Georgia, Laura Thompson and all their partners making masks upon masks to share out into the community.  The love and the light our community shines out into the world is remarkable, and I can feel and sense it every day.

God bless you all in this time of uncertainty, strife and searching.  I miss you.—Pastor Larry
