Employment Opportunity: Choir/Praise Team Music Director

Lee Church Congregational is seeking a Director for our Choir/Praise Team. This is a salaried P/T position requiring choral directing skills, organization and relational skills, plus an understanding of Christian ministry and music. Candidates should have experience directing a choir, proficient in piano playing preferred, familiarity with liturgical procedures and music. Interested candidates should submit their resume to:


To lead and direct the choirs during church services of worship, special church events, and rehearsals in support of the church mission. The ideal candidate would possess knowledge of a wide range of church music, and the ability to lead and direct Choir/Praise Team.  Candidate should have experience in music performance and education. This is a part-time salaried position.

Skills and Qualifications:

  1. Experience in directing a choir required.
  2. Knowledge of Christian worship, demonstrating the ability to select appropriate music.
  3. Knowledge of music theory and ability to sight read required to perform choral music.
  4. Knowledge of the essence of performance, individual differences in ability, personality and interests; learning and motivation.
  5. Ability to objectively self-assess and assess performance of singers.


  1. Mentor and develop the spiritual and musical growth of the Choir/Praise Team.
  2. Select, prepare and provide appropriate music for worship services and special services from September to June.
  3. Effectively communicate with staff and Choir/Praise Team members.
  4. Confer with the Pastor to integrate the musical selections in planning worship services.
  5. Plan, schedule and arrange details for rehearsals of the choirs.
  6. Recruit members for the Choir/Praise Team.
  7. Maintain library of music.
  8. Attend worship team meetings.
  9. Evaluate annually the job performance of the accompanist.
