November 2013

The dog days of summer are behind us and the crisp days of autumn have arrived.  The trees with their beautiful reds and golds remind us once again of the wonders God has created.  With the fall comes the harvest of the fruits of our hard work.  A harvest shared with others during the “Harvest Supper” on October 20th.  The supper was well attended and many hands made for light work.

The Youth Group made table centerpieces that included tea lights adding a touch of ambiance to Fellowship Hall during the meal.  Christian Ed helped with bussing tables and clean up.  Thank you to Phil Sanborn for his donation of the butternut squash, the women who spent Friday morning making the apple crisp and to everyone who donated their time, food and monetary gifts to make the dinner a success.  Special thank you to Jessica Storddard and Joe DeFlumeri for spending their Saturday cooking the meal.

The Choirs are in full “sing” and the bells are in full “ring”.  Roxanne Prisby is in need of more children to add to the Jr. Choir as is Carlene Ruesenberg for the Sr. and Jr. HandBell Choirs.  If you or your child have ever considered participating in one of the choirs, now is the time to take that leap of faith and share your talents.  And let’s not forget about the Praise Team.  They too are looking for talented individuals to join in singing to music of praise.  If you enjoy singing contemporary Christian music, play the drums, guitar, saxophone or some other type of instrument, the Praise Team welcomes you to join them.

If you have any questions on any of the Choirs, please contact Roxanne Prisby, Director Sr. & Jr. Choirs; Carlene Ruesenberg Director Sr. & Jr. Bells and see any of the Praise Team members for questions pertaining to their group.

Sing,Sing,Sing and Ring,Ring,Ring to praise the Lord.  Glory Be To God!

Junior / Senior Choir News . . .

Greetings from the Junior and Senior Choir!
Senior Choir spent the month of October getting to know one another better and attempting
to perfect our Sunday routine in the Fellowship Hall. We think that by the time we get the
hang of it, we will be back in the Sanctuary! We enjoyed learning the new Introits that (Reverend?
Pastor? What is Larry's title??) Larry Brickner-Wood introduced to us, and we are looking forward to
adding them to our repertoire. We are enjoying one another's company by taking a break for fellowship
once a month during rehearsal. We enthusiastically welcomed Alana Patterson back to
choir! We look forward to combining forces with the bell choir on the seventeenth of November.

Junior Choir got off to a late start thanks to crazy fall schedules, so we are really excited to get to work
and share our music for the first time on the seventeenth of November. We have been working hard
learning some rounds and partner songs, and the kids are now able to sing some very complex pieces
on their own. We have also been practicing our favorite yoga poses, tongue twister warm ups, and
singing games. We are a small group this year, and we would love to welcome some new singers!

If you have any questions about Junior or Senior Choir, don't hesitate to get in touch
at rprisby(at)comcast(dot)net , or just come try it out! Junior Choir rehearses on Thursdays from 5-6, and
Senior Choir on Thursdays from 7-8:30. Hope to see you there!!
