Music Committee

The choirs are back and in full swing.  Brandy is settling in as the Music Leader for the Praise Team and Sr. Choir Director for the Sr. Choir.  Her husband Lief has joined the Praise Team as the drummer and sings with the Sr. Choir.

The Praise Team is still looking for more singers and musicians.  If you love to sing or play the guitar and would like to join the Praise Team, rehearsals are Thursday evening from 6 - 7 PM.

Carlene Ruesenberg is now the Director for both the Sr. and Jr. Bell Choirs, both choirs have started practicing and we look forward to hearing them play at both services this year.

Roxanne Prisby has put out the call for anyone interested in joining the Jr. Choir.  We look forward to seeing Roxanne and the Jr. Choir providing us with their musical talents at both services as well.

Sing unto the Lord with PRAISE!  Alleluia!

 The Music Committee

The handbell choirs are getting back to speed, slowly but surely. We’re excited to welcome our newest ringer, Brandy Irish-Gerjuoy, and to welcome back Jaime Boivin to the Senior handbell choir. We are looking forward to sharing worship with you this month, and at our Christmas Eve services.

The Junior handbell choir is still in need of some ringers!! We meet every Tuesday from 6-6:50, and perform about once a month in a service. Ability to read music is helpful, but not necessary. What is needed is a positive attitude, and a willingness to be part of a terrific team. If you know of a youth (Grade 3+) who might be interested in joining us, please contact Carlene Ruesenberg at cruesenberg at comcast (dot) net or 603-491-3047.

Give the gift of music! If you enjoy the handbells, but aren’t able to join us, we would love it if you could support the purchase of new music for the choir. I am always on the lookout for new and interesting music for the handbell choirs to add to their repertoire.  As a member of the Handbell Musicians of America, we have an obligation to uphold the copyright laws and purchase however many copies of a piece of music that we need, and not play from photocopies.  To date, a new set of handbell music costs approximately $35-$40, which adds up quickly when purchasing more than one new piece of music in a year. You can help us by donating to the Lee Church Music Fund the amount that we need to purchase a new set of music. Many people have done this to honor someone, or to memorialize a loved one.  We would work together in choosing an appropriate piece. The bulletin would have a notice of your gift on the day the piece is played in the service.  If this is something you might be interested in doing, please contact Carlene at cruesenberg at comcast (dot) net. I already have some pieces in mind for both the Senior and Junior Bell Choirs, so your help would be greatly appreciated. Thanks so much!

Junior Choir Update

Junior Choir started their rehearsals in early October this year.  We had a great time working on our first song, which we were lucky enough to share with the Senior Choir on October 14th.  We are having fun getting to know each other by playing singing games, working on yoga poses, learning about music, and getting some new songs ready to share with the congregation.  We can't wait for you to hear our solos!  We will sing at the first service on November 18th this month.  We would love to welcome some new members to the Junior Choir.  The more the merrier!  If you like singing and having fun, come give it a try.  We meet on Thursday evenings from 5-6 in the Sanctuary.  We hope to see you there!

Jr. Choir Director
