Music Choirs News

Hello from Junior Choir!

April was a fun month! Not only did we get to sing in service, but we were able to participate in the Music Ministry Jubilee. Great job to everyone involved! We are proud to be a part of the strong music program at Lee Church. We also enjoyed a much needed week off from school. Now we are in the final stretch of the school year! In May, we will sing during the second service on the 26th. Then, we will start getting ready for Children's Sunday. We have something special planned with some Senior Choir and Praise Team members. If you would like to join us, please email Roxanne at rprisby@comcast.net or come and say hi Thursday evenings at five o'clock in the Sanctuary. We would love to have you!

News from the Bell Choir

Thank you to everyone who came out to hear the Music Ministry Jubilee! It was great to have an opportunity to show off the many musical talents that are here in the Lee Church.

The Senior Bell choir is working hard on music for the Area 1 Festival Conference that will be held at UNH on June 28-30. John Brothwell, Rosemary Salkovitz, Sally Barney, Marian Kelsey (and Marian’s sister, Susan) and Phyllis White will be representing the Lee Church to join 600 other New England handbell musicians for four days of workshops and rehearsals, culminating in a final concert on Sunday, June 30 at 3:00 in the Whittemore Arena.

The event planners need volunteers to usher at that final concert, so if you are interested, please let Carlene know at 491-3047 or cdruesenberg@gmail.com. If you’ve never heard 600 handbell musicians playing all at once, it’s a unique experience that shouldn’t be missed. The concert is free, but a donation is requested to support the scholarship fund that the Area 1 of the Handbell Musicians of America has in place to help choirs and ringers attend their many events.

Again, thanks for your support of the Music Ministry Jubilee!
