HANDBELL CHOIR NEWS: April 2018

posted Apr 2, 2018, 9:18 AM by Lee Church

The Youth and Senior Bell Choirs have had the opportunity to praise God through their music a number of times this winter. From the Music Jubilee for the celebration of our church’s 150th Anniversary, through Christmas and now into Lent and Easter our musicians are enhancing our church services with their musical offerings.

I can’t say enough great things about Elijah and Josiah Mariacher who have stepped forward to ring in the Youth Choir this year.  With many of our high school ringers singing in the voice choir or ringing in the Senior Handbell Choir it has shifted the numbers in our Youth Choir. This unique challenge has been met head on by Elijah and Josiah who are learning a lot and producing beautiful music for our services.  Thank you boys!  Next fall I hope more of our young people will join us in learning to play bells.

A big thank you goes out to Sheila Bennion, Lynda DuVall, Haley Evans and Pastor Gail who answered the call for substitute ringers. Who knew there was so much handbell talent sitting in our pews.  I bet there is more!!  Thank you Sheila, Gail, Haley and Lynda.

SHEALYN PARÉ INVITED TO RING

WITH THE 2018 NATIONAL HONORS HANDBELL ENSEMBLE

Congratulations to Lee Church handbell ringer Shealyn Paré who has been selected to ring with the 2018 National Honors  Handbell  Ensemble.  The ensemble is composed of 30 outstanding youth handbell ringers from across the country.  This auditioned choir will be under the direction of renowned composer and director Kevin McChesney.  Shealyn was first selected for this honor in 2015 as a high school sophomore.  Shealyn has rung with the Lee Church Ringers since starting with our Youth Handbell Choir in fourth grade.  Congratulations Shealyn!
