November 2012

What wonderful weather we had for this year’s CROP walk.  It couldn’t have been better.   Thanks to all who joined us and who donated.  If you didn’t have a chance to donate there is still time, just see one of the members of the Mission’s committee.    We’ll have a final total for you next month.

November offers us two opportunities to help our neighbors.  The Mission’s committee will be out and about on Saturday morning, November 3rd, lending a helping hand  to members of our community.   We have several projects lined up and if you have a few hours we’d love it if you joined us.  We promise the work will not be too strenuous and the company and comfort that you bring to those in need will be worth it. We’ll meet at the church at 9 to get our assignments for the morning.  Please sign up on the mission’s bulletin board or let one of the committee members know that you’ll be coming.  We wouldn’t want to leave anyone behind.

Along this same line, be watching the Sunday bulletin in November for information on the Neighbor’s In Need Annual Offering through the United Church of Christ.  The offering will be collected November 11th.

Neighbors in Need (NIN)—Neighbors in Need (NIN) is a special mission offering of the UCC that supports ministries of justice and compassion throughout the United States.  One-third of NIN funds support the Council for American Indian Ministry(CAIM). Two-thirds of the offering is used by the UCC's Justice and Witness Ministries(JWM) to support a variety of justice initiatives, advocacy efforts, and direct service projects.

The Mission's Committee is collecting the NIN offering on November 11th.  Keep an eye out for literature in the Weekly Church Bulletin to see how you can help.
