Missions (January 2012)

Cookies and Soup are a tangible way that the Lee Church supports Waysmeet; our first

semester support was fantastic and this ministry will start up again as the new semester gets underway. Look on the Missions bulletin board for the sign-up sheet for cookie and soup

volunteers. In December the congregation had the opportunity to support both the Heifer Project and World Vision; both organizations that support persons in a wide variety of ways including through the gift of animals, seeds, loans to women in business and schooling for children. Our congregation was very generous with their support. In wrapping up our fall

projects, the Missions Committee is pleased to announce that $504 was collected for Neighbors in Need. It was decided by the Missions Committee to donate the Christmas Eve offering to Waysmeet; the budgeted missions funds will help support both Community

Partners and A Safe Place. January 29th is Mission Sunday, the missions committee will be working with Pastor Gail to develop the program of service for both services on that day when we will celebrate the way in which we, as a group and as individuals, reach out to others.
