Our diaconate committee held its last monthly meeting on July 7th.  We were unable to hold our usual August meeting due to lack of availability of members.  The committee continues to enjoy the single summer worship services and looks forward to Rally Day when we resume the two service Sundays.

The Diaconate Chairs have been working with the other committee chairs in planning the upcoming Rally Sunday which is expected to be a great event.  Great food, Great Friends, Great Music, Great Games, and an all-around Great Time.  Make sure you are there!!

The Market Basket saga has resulted in the Wilkinson Food Pantry donation box at the Lee store to be less than over-flowing but we continue to accept donations at the pantry at the church.

We have also been in preparation for contributing to the “End 68 Hours of Hunger” program at Mast Way School which will start when school starts.  This program aims to confront the approximately 68 hours of hunger that some school children experience between the free lunch they receive in school on Friday afternoon and the free breakfast they receive in school on Monday morning. End 68 Hours of Hunger

In the past few months, we welcomed Jill Paré to the Diaconate as our newest member.  With Jill now taking on the role of Christian Education Director, we understandably accept her resignation from Diaconate committee to allow her the necessary time to focus on that very important role.  We thank Jill for her time served on the diaconate and also wish her the best in her new role.  We know she will do a fantastic job!

In Christ's service,

The Diaconate Committee
