Where has the time gone? It is hard to believe that it is November and thanksgiving is around the corner. Thanksgiving is a special time to share with family and friends. Each year on Thanksgiving, our family shares what we are thankful for. In looking back at the last year, I have much to be thankful for including vacationing with family, the engagement of Nick and Courtney, Jon’s continued success in college, special visits and memories with Bill’s mom, Bill’s successful surgery, a wonderful year as President of my professional organization, the wonderful volunteers who make the CE program successful, support from the Congregation and CE committee during Bill’s mom’s illness and Bill’s surgery, friends, family, spending time with my mom and especially my husband, Bill. I could go on and on. I feel very blessed. Thank you to a wonderful Congregation who make my job so rewarding. What are you thankful for?

Communion Class: Communion class will be held on October 31st at 9:30 AM to accommodate children from both services. The children will be making Communion elements on Saturday, November 6th at Pastor Gail’s home. On November 7th, the children will assist with servicing Communion at both services. All children in grade 5 are welcome in Communion class. If you have an older child that would like to participate, please see me.

Hanging of Greens: We are changing the hanging of greens. The children will be making Gingerbread houses during Sunday school on Sunday, November 28th. We welcome any parents who are willing to assist us with this fun activity. It has been a real hit for the past few years.

Confirmation: Informational meeting for youth in 8th grade or older that are interested in participating in Confirmation class in 2011 will be held on November 14th at 12 noon. If you have a child in 8th grade or older that would like to be in Confirmation class and does not receive a letter, let me know.

Nursery: The nursery is in desperate need for volunteers. We have many Sundays with no volunteers especially at the 10:30 AM service. If you could do one Sunday per month, it would really help. It is a great opportunity to work with the youngest children in our Congregation.

Thanks for your continued support for the CE program.

In God’s love,

Sheila Bennion
